Cinderella Ball

Activa Media, who is celebrating its 4th anniversary this year, is one of the generous supporter for the Cinderella Ball 2009, a joint effort by the Singapore Council of Women Organisations (SCWO) and Singapore Dance Theatre (SDT).
The Gala Dinner was held on the 28th of February, 2009 at the Island Ballroom, Shangri-la Hotel. The Gala will be based on the theme of Cinderella which will be SDT first major production for 2009 a wonderful production by renowned international choreographer, Graham Lustig.
About Singapore Council of Women's Organisation
The Singapore Council of Women's Organisations (SCWO) is the national coordinating body of women's organisations in Singapore. Incorporated in March 1980, the SCWO seeks to unite the various women's organisations, clubs, committees, groups and women leaders together, working in accordance with its various aims and objectives. The SCWO seeks to co-ordinate these asociations into a national movement and to act on their behalf in matters for which it is authorised by its members.
The SCWO is represented on various Government and inter-ministry committees where they contribute their views in the areas of family, women and on children's issues. They are also involved in government Feedback Sessions and other discussions on issues and policies.
About Singapore Dance Theatre
Co-founded by the late Anthony Then and Ms Goh Soo Khim, the Singapore Dance Theatre (SDT) is one of the premier professional dance companies to have emerged from the Asia-Pacific region. The company of 22 dancers is currently headed by Artistic Director Mr Janek Schergen.
Performing six seasons in a year, The Company holds a repertoire which ranges from classical to contemporary ballet, including works from well-known choreographers like Jean-Paul Comelin, Stanton Welch, George Balanchine, Jiri Kylian, Nacho Duato, Boi Sakti, Goh Choo San, Sakiko Oshima, Ohad Naharin and Marie-Claude Pietragalla. SDT seasons include performances at the Esplanade Theatre, Performing Home of the SDT and at the Fort Canning Green, residence of the widely popular Ballet Under the Stars (BUTS) series. BUTS has to date, attracted over 160,000 audience from all walks of life and have seen many converted to dance aficionados.
